These square tins are available in a variety of sizes. At 3 inch in depth, they suit all recipes, but also allow for extra depth (and indulgence) when its needed. Priced per pan
Described by BBC Good food magazine as ‘"brilliant - but so simple", the unprecedented sliding base pulls out of the pan like a draw, for the easy release of square cakes, tray bakes and brownies.
This innovative mechanism, coupled with the unique Silverwood ‘silver anodised’ non-stick finish is such that there is no need to line the tin, even with particularly runny batter. Simply clip the patented ‘eye-shaped’ catch in place and fill the tin with mixture. Once the baking is complete simply and easily release the clasp and slide the cake right out. No fuss or mess.
Made from high quality anodised aluminium, these cake pans boast Silverwood’s unique ‘heat spread technology’. A highly conductive aluminium core takes the worry and time out of baking, ensuring cake and brownies are evenly cooked, garnering the perfect result time after time.
The anodising treatment locks in and strengthens the aluminium, resulting in a hardwearing, non-stick surface, free from PTFE.
Unlike cheaper ‘throwaway’ alternatives, these square cake pans are crafted to last and along with much of the Silverwood Bakeware range they improve with age, developing a ‘patina’ of oil, which improves the release properties of the product.
Robust in construction, Silverwood bakeware is manufactured in the UK by an award winning family business, using the heavy gauge aluminium alloy, Alsil. Unlike cheaper ‘ throwaway’ alternatives these products are made to last. Priced per pan
Silverwood’s unique non-stick, anodised aluminium finish strengthens and protects the product. It will never bubble, rust or peel, enhancing the lifespan of the bakeware.
The non-stick surface, and innovative sliding base allow for ease of release, cleaning and storage.
Square cake pans have welded corners to ensure they can’t bow
Available in a wide variety of sizes: 6 inch/15 cm, 7 inch/ 18 cm, 8 inch/ 20 cm, 9 inch/ 23 cm, 10 inch/ 25 cm, 11inch/28 cm, 12 inches/ 30 cm
Unique ‘Heat transfer technology’ allows for even, crisp baking.
Silverwood 'silver anodised' bakeware range does not need to be seasoned before the first use. An initial wash in warm soapy water is all that is required.
After use simply wash in warm, soapy water, rinse and dry. The non-stick anodised aluminium surface not only allows for ease of release after baking but also makes for easy cleaning.
Excessive scrubbing and abrasive detergents are not necessary and may damage the non-stick capabilities of the product. Along with most high quality bakeware, Silverwood is not suitable for the dishwasher, as some detergents can damage the surface irreparably.
Avoid using sharp utensils and knives.
Although the non-stick properties are of the highest professional quality, you may choose to ‘grease’ the pan depending upon the recipe, or your own preference. Various fats and oils are suitable for the unique anodised surface.
For baking you might grease with unsalted butter. A light dusting of plain flour (knock-out after dusting) will also help, though this will create a light golden crust, which may not suit some recipes.
Although now a popular cooking ingredient, please avoid using olive oil to lubricate Silverwood products. Similarly commercial releasing agents (often found as aerosols) are not recommended. These are both known to build up a sticky residue, which is hard to remove, and can actually spoil the release properties of the bakeware.
Cooking with certain fats and oils may produce a light discolouration on the surface of the pan. This is quite normal, and is not hazardous to health. Some professional chefs encourage a 'patina' of this nature to build-up on their bakeware.
